Today was Brunswick's annual Coast Fest so we decided to go out for a little while since we missed it last year. We couldn't have asked for better weather, a cold front is hanging over so it was only in the high 70's. The kids had a lot of fun playing on the various boats...

...which included "driving" one. Good thing it was docked since Ashlyn couldn't see over the wheel let alone out the window to see where we were going.

Then we headed over to the touch tanks to play with all kinds of crabs...

...and tried our hand at shrimping. Ashlyn got frustrated that she wasn't fast enough to catch very many, but we could've had a feast with the ones Blake caught!

Then it was off to the turtle area. This was a gopher tortoise that we see quite a bit by the beach, they get to be really big. There were all kinds of cool turtles and tortoises. Our favorite was the terrapin because of it spiky shell and it's white with green polka dot like skin.

The only show we went to was the Bubble-ologist's show since the rest we've seen in previous years. This guy was amazing with the things he did with bubbles! He calls himself a bubble artist and made all kinds of things including a snowman and pinwheel that even spun around and a cube shaped bubble.

Yep, that's a kid INSIDE a bubble!

Last but not least was the snake exhibit, which we almost forgot, and was by far their favorite. My kids LOVE snakes and are not the least bit scared of them. I'm glad the volunteers reconfirmed that they should NEVER try to pet or hold a snake if they come across one because I really am afraid that Ashlyn would.

Check these two out! They had no problems with holding the things...yuck! Ashlyn laughed that I wouldn't get anywhere near them. The one Blake had licked him multiple times, gross!

Ugh, it gives me the hee-bee-gee-bees just looking at the pictures!

After our fun we headed over to try out the new frozen yogurt place that is like a buffet for ice cream! What a way to end a fun day!
