We totally spaced carving pumpkins last year but the kids made sure we didn't this year. Blake was pretty discussed with getting his hands dirty and after making a lame attempt to clean out the guts of his pumpkin with a spoon...
...look who he sweet talked into doing it for him.
Ashlyn on the other hand tried it with the spoon and quickly realized it was easier to just get in with her hands and thought it was fun to get her hands yucky!
Then it was time to get the pattern that we created for Blake's masterpiece...
...however, our plan back fired and this is what we ended up with...
The middle of the "O" wouldn't stay...duh! So Dad sucked it up and joined in on the fun to save us...
And the final product. GO DUCKS!
By then Ashlyn had finished cleaning her's out and we went to work with the pattern that she chose.
I was shocked that I got her's to turn out using just a steak knife...sometimes I surprise myself!

Did you forget how to spell pumpkins? I need Blake's pumpkin to put in my co-worker's classroom for pay backs from last year. What is the other object in Ashlyn's besides the bat?
