I am sooo glad I wasn't Blake today! He had to visit the dentist to have 4 teeth pulled to make room for the adult teeth to come down for his braces to be able to do their thing. Luckily one of them came loose last week and we made him sit and wiggle it like crazy...saved us $145. Yep that's how much a dentist charges per tooth...times that by 4 teeth. To top it all off I chose last month to cancel our dental insurance since it was cheaper to self pay since we have only needed it for routine care. Big mistake!
Check out the size of the needle that dentist has in his hand! It's a good thing the patient can never see the tools as they are being used! He did great with it all, way better than I think I would've handled it. They had to use a stronger numbing medicine in the shots when the weaker stuff didn't work so his face was all puffy and swollen and he had NO control over it. Trying to talk after it was done was hilarious to watch! Then the doctor said he earned a trip for ice cream so we hit Wendy's for a frosty on the way home.
Ashlyn and I got quite the laugh at his expense watching him attempt to eat his frosty! The poor kid kept missing his mouth since his lips were swollen and numb...and the majority of what he did get to his mouth oozed out the side. I couldn't help laugh hysterically, Ashlyn was very concerned and kept telling him to use his napkin. He was pretty mad that I took his picture...I'm sure he'll laugh about it one day though!
