Needless to say it's a whole different world living here in Klamath Falls than we've experienced the last 6 years. We are so excited to get through winter so we can enjoy all the outdoorsy things we missed while we were gone - i.e a hike that isn't a flat plane for miles on end and swimming in lakes that aren't gator infested! However, now since it's cold we have to look at the beautiful mountains from afar. Our house is up on the highest street of the foothills overlooking town and across the valley is Mt. Shasta. It is so pretty to look out the window each day...I think my favorite view is when the valley is full of fog and the mountain tops peak out of the clouds. Since we're high enough on the hill we're above the fog too and the peaks are all you can see. The pictures don't turn out though. Here are a few we've taken the last couple of weeks. As much as we are dreading the arrival of snow, it sure will make for a pretty scene out our window.

We also have a family of deer that live in the foothills. We haven't seen them up as high as were are, but always see them on our way home. I got out of the car to see how far they'd let me get to them for this picture because I didn't have my camera and my cell phone camera doesn't have a zoom. I was shocked that they let me get about 20 feet away before the slowly started walking the other direction.
