Day Three - 802 miles

Albuquerque, NM - Bakersfield, CA. This was the LONGEST day by far! The first exciting thing that we came across was...and then it was into...Then just as we entered...I saw this......the bridge at the Agricultural check station. This is where my poor brother-in-law was nailed for trying to smuggle contraband into the state of California. A house plant that we've kept alive for a couple of years made it all the way across the country only for them to take from us. Rick had a plant in the vehicle he was driving, but wasn't aware of it to tell them, so he was able to get through with his!

Then after I was mad about having to leave my plant behind we were welcomed into the stupid state with this sign......are you serious! 55 mph?? We had a LONG way to drive to the Oregon border to only take it 55 mph! We stretched it to about 68 mph and crossed our fingers that we didn't get pulled over.
