The kids' school had a bike rodeo the last week of school. Ashlyn had a lot of fun with her friends trying out the course and the various obstacles they set up for them. She even won a new bike helmet in a drawing at the end of the day...too bad it's WAY too big on her. (This weekend we took her training wheels off her bike...we'll see how long before she can ride. So far it's NOT going well!)
Blake tried riding his bike to school the day of the bike rodeo, but came back in the house 5 minutes later with a flat tire...so flat that he said the wheel fell off. Upon further investigation by Rick, it was just the inner tube of the tire that was so flat that it fell out when he jumped on and started down the driveway to go to school...only Blake could get on a bike with a tire soooo flat and not notice!
Luckily the school has a fleet of bikes and he was able to still participate in the bike rodeo...he claimed he didn't do as well cause he wasn't comfortable with the bike...the rest of his class did pretty bad too. There were only 2 kids that were able to maneuver the ramps and various obstacles successfully. They had fun though!
He was able to make it accross this one without falling off and was pretty excited.
