Neither Blake or Ashlyn have been to....
...until this weekend that is. They were excited when we decided last minute to drive down to...
...to check it out for the holiday weekend.
We spent a day out at Virginia City which is where the big boom of the Silver Rush was "back in the day." Ashlyn kept getting annoyed that all the tour guides kept repeating the "back in the day" phrase and asked if I was born "back in the day." Yes, but not that far "back in the day"!
Blake wouldn't humor me and go along with the "stage coach ride" so I volunteered to "go" with Ashlyn.
And who could pass up Circus Circus?? It was a blast as a kid, but as an adult I was ready to leave after about 10 minutes...it was like Chuck E. Cheese on STEROIDS! Of course the kids ate it up though.
Here's Ashlyn playing her first game of the night, after I gave her the "you aren't going to win, these games are made for you to lose and them to take your money" speech....
...she WON and we created a MONSTER! She was talking about it ALL night and drove her brother CRAZY who didn't win anything. We better watch her when she's old enough to play the slots.
Blake had fun playing lots of the games, even if he didn't win anything though.
Dad even got in on some ski ball and a pony race that he won and gave his prize to Blake. Then of course we hit various buffets while we were there...who can pass up casino buffets! And my to Rick's dismay - we were in civilization so we had to do some shopping, woo hoo! It's always nice to get away for a few days and explore somewhere new.
