Rick had to be up in Newport this weekend for work, so we decided to make a family trip out of it and invited some of Rick's family to join us. I got us a GREAT beach house in Lincoln City...
...that had a great deck on the back, right on the beach with an AWESOME view...
The first day Aunt Kay scored us all FREE tickets to...
...while Rick was at work.
The kids had fun playing in the touch pools....
...and seeing all the fish. Blake laid down in the middle of the shark tube to check out the view from below.
No family gathering is complete without playing games, but Blake also enjoyed putting a puzzle together with Grandma Kathy and Aunt Kay.
Ashlyn enjoyed playing and being silly with all her cousins...
...but also enjoyed some R&R in the BEAUTIFUL, warm and VERY rare, Oregon Coast Sun.
Blake enjoyed soaking up some sun while reading a few books he brought along.
Uncle Steve saved the day by bringing "expensive kites" when all of our Dollar Store ones broke.
Of course I couldn't pass up a photo op with such amazing scenery/backdrop when I had sooo many people around to snap the shot for all of us to be in...a rare occasion!
Each night after we tucked the kids into bed, we all went out to the back deck and watched the beautiful sunset...I only got a few shots, but we loved teasing Grandma Kathy that we could take her billions of shots and put them together in a flip book and if you flipped it fast enough it would be like you actually were there for the sunset.
Then after packing up the cars to head to the outlet mall and then home we took our sun burnt selves to the Casino Buffet for breakfast - yummy! Rick, Grandma Kathy and Aunt Kay definitely got the worst of the sun burns...who would've thought we needed to bring after sun lotion to the beach in OREGON??

Um, how did you guys get sunburns if you were wearing jeans and sweatshirts in all your pictures. That doesn't look so warm to me. Love the family picture and the picture of Blake reading. Awesome backdrop!
I need a copy of the family picture please.
Nicole,
I asked Pete about the book list he gave Bekah. He said to ask her because he just wrote it out on paper. He did give these suggestions
Terry Pratchett - The Bromeliad Trilogy, Tad William - Dragons of Odd Farm, Neal Gaiman - Graveyard Book and Brondon Mull - Fable Haven Series. I'll send you his email and you can ask him for more. he wants to know what Blake has read and likes to read.

I know you guys have had to endure some freezing weather; those views and that sun are AMAZING. The aquarium looks like so much fun. I miss that sort of stuff a lot. You remember our mud beaches, right? complete with sharks? :) :)
