A Little R&R With the Larsens

This past week my sister Shannon, her husband Devin and Ryleigh, their 18 months old daughter flew into Orlando for 5 days. Blake and Ashlyn were lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend so we drove down to hang out. Devin found the find of finds in his search for a place to stay...a 1 bedroom condo with washer/dryer, kitchen etc. at a resort for $33 a night! (The 2 bedroom was only $39, but they wouldn't let us change the reservations so we crammed into the smaller one) It had multiple pools, but this one was the kids' favorite because of the 2-story water slide and the zero entry for the younger kids.Blake and Uncle Devin rode the slide over and over and Ashlyn and Ryleigh enjoyed not having to use their floaties in the shallower water. We also got to play an 18-hole miniature golf course...the kids enjoyed this WAY more than the adults...golf's not our thing.Blake was the designated score keeper, however about 1/3 of the way through the course he lost the pencil to keep track...we still wonder if it was because he was losing.
Ashlyn was hilarious throughout the course. After playing a couple of holes with the help of Aunt Shannon or I, she decided she could do it on her own...she lost count of her strokes for each hole because it was soooo many, but boy was she excited each time she finally got it in the hole each time!
One of the days we headed over to Daytona Beach for some boogie boarding. Much to our surprise, and later disgust, there was an air show going on at our favorite place. The kids had a blast watching all the tricks and how close the planes got to the water before pulling up...until the fighter jets came and blew our eardrums out! The girls FREAKED out (to put it mildly) and we left after only 2 short hours of fun in the sun with MAJOR headaches. We opted not to do any of the parks this time in Orlando since Ryleigh's so young, but it was fun to relax and soak up the sun with family we don't get to see very often since they live so far away. We sure had fun hanging out with ya Larsen family...wish ya'll lived closer! Can't wait to hang out again in Dallas with ya'll in September hopefully!
