Gonna Give Me An Ulcer!

Oh man, Blake was the starting pitcher for Tom's Chevron Saturday's game this week...way too stressful for Mom!  Every pitch you are on the edge of your seat saying under your breath "Come on Blake, you can do it...come on Blake" until he releases the ball.  It is MUCH easier to watch the game when he is playing 1st base.  And to make it worse it was one of his best friends from church and school who was pitching for the opposing team...battle of the friends.
Blake did AWESOME though!
When he was up to pitch the 2nd inning the score was 15-1 so his coach pulled him so we wouldn't run up the score too much.  Blake was sad about it but understood.
His coach felt really bad and came up to him and Rick at the car afterwards and apologized for having to pull him cause he was doing awesome, but his coach isn't one who runs up the score if he can help it.  He loves that he is a lefty so it throws the batter off a little.  I guess it paid off for us to not let him use his right hand for ANYTHING when he was a baby/toddler.
His friend that was pitching for the other team got pulled after the 1st inning too and was put in center field...just in time for Blake to crush one his direction.  It flew over poor Collin's head and rolled to the fence before he could get to it.  Since Blake is a slower runner he was able to get to 2nd base on the hit, but most kids could've gotten to 3rd.  We even had a kid on the team get a home run on a bunt last game!  He placed it just right, they over threw it at 1st base and the kid ran like the wind.  Boy are we having a BLAST with baseball this year!
