Eat, Sleep and Play Baseball 24/7

Blake and Rick went on the Father/Son Campout Friday night when Blake had a baseball game the next morning...big mistake!  Him and all his friends were up past midnight and ate like crap so Blake was in sad shape come pre-game batting practice.  All his friends play baseball so they were in the same situation to play for their teams, but apparently they do better than Blake with little sleep.  After LOTS of tears, he was able to pull it together and had an awesome game.  As soon as it was over he went home and vegged on the couch and was in bed at 8 o'clock.

Ashlyn had a birthday party to go to until 10 o'clock that night...after I picked her up and we were upstairs getting ready for bed we walked by Blake's room and saw him sitting up in bed and stopped to see if he was okay.  The conversation went something like this...

Me:  Blake, what are you doing?
Blake: I was sleeping Mom.
Me:  Right, but what are you doing now?  You need to go back so sleep!
Ashlyn comes in to see what is going on...
Blake:  I can't Mom, I hit a foul ball!
Ashlyn:  (Laughing hysterically)  What are you talking about Blake, you are sleeping!
Blake:  No I am helping with a grounder!
Me: (chuckling)  Blake you really need to go back to sleep, you are exhausted.
Blake:  Ok, I guess maybe I can't help.  (He lays down and rolls over to go back to sleep)

Ashlyn and I laughed hysterically about it, waking Rick up.  The next morning we told Blake about it and of course he remembers nothing about it.  Not only is EVERY waking minute centered around baseball in our house, now even when he is asleep he is obsessed with it....crazy kid!
