I'm not sure where our country got the idea that we needed to gut a pumpkin and cut random pictures in them for Halloween....but it sucks!
We were out of town all weekend AGAIN and only had tonight to get it done. I wasn't really in the mood for it, so it started bad...but I did get Rick to participate, which is a 1st in the 12 Halloweens we've celebrated!
The kids even dug their's out for the most part, which is a 1st as well. However, we bought the little saws for the 1st time and it made carving this HUGE pumpkin...
...a BREEZE, but the little one that Ashlyn got from school broke 2 of them right away so we carved a REALLY crappy face on it and called it good. Then I tried to carves Blake's with a pearing knife and a steak knife and messed it up bad enough that he said - "Mom, how about you just throw it in the garbage...I didnt' want one that bad anyways." We are (in Taylor Swift's words) "Never, ever" going to carve pumpkins again! They can paint them, or even go all "Martha Stewart" on them, but I'm not digging out another pumpkin or taking a knife or saw in attempt to turn it into a work of art again!!

You will forget about this experience by the time next Halloween rolls around and if you don't, your kids can come carve with us. Party pooper
I am not a fan of carving pumpkins myself so I will not be doing it until my kids are old enough to help participate! :) Is that bad? haha!
