Blake had game #1 of the All City Baseball Tournament on Ashlyn's birthday this year, so she was lucky to spread the festivities over two days. On Friday night we met Aunt Kristen, Danielle, Uncle Loren and Aunt Cindy up at Red Robin for her birthday dinner...tasty!
Out of all the gifts she got Aunt Cindy and Uncle Loren's makeup kit was the one she just couldn't let be while we were at the restaurant...it was pretty funny watching her try and put in on, luckily most of it is just clear and shiny!
She was PRETTY excited that the waiters sang Happy Birthday to her and brought her a tasty ice cream sundae...during the song she looked pretty embarrassed that the whole restaurant was watching her.
The next morning she had a party with her friends at Jumpin' Jelly Beans. Unfortunatley since it was the weekend that school got out most of her friends had plans and it was just her and her best friend Alexis...they had the WHOLE place to themselves!
Then since I haven't been feeling the best because of chemo we didn't do the normal time consuming birthday cake this year. I asked if she wanted to order one from the bakery but she opted for homemade cupcakes, talk about easy! I was worried the kids would be sad about me not being able to do a fancy cake for each of them, but it didn't bother them at all, thank goodness. All in all it was a fun 2 days of celebrating...I can't believe she is 7 already!
