Championship Game Let Down

We got a phone call this morning from a co-worker of Rick's saying to check out the newspaper cause Blake was in it...quite a few of his friends from church saw it this morning and told him about it before we even knew.
"A sign of the times — and the All-City Championship game — as Tom's Chervron's Blake Harrison can only wait and hope to no avail as Baker Boyer's first homerun of the day sails appropriately over the Baker Boyer Bank sponser sign enroute to Baker Boyer's 10-0 win Saturday."

Unfortunately, the Championship Game was rained out on Wednesday and not rescheduled until Saturday morning.  This put our team at a HUGE disadvantage...they had used their top two pitchers pitch count up in their last game, so we were really looking good going into the game...with the weather delay both those boys were back in the game.  Their star pitcher is consistently clocked at 70 mph and was throwing nothing but strikes, there was nothing we could do...he struck out kid after kid and we ended up losing 0-10 in an hour after the top of the 4th inning.  It was quite a sad way to end such an awesome season, but a 21-3 season and a 2nd place All City Tournament finish is definitely something to be proud of.  Way to be Tom's Chevron!  We can't wait for next year!
