This semester in Blake's TAG program they've been studying Greek Mythology...BORING in my opinion but the kids LOVED it. So as an end of the year event Thursday night they put on a few plays of various stories. Blake's class did "King Midas and the Golden Touch" and Blake was King Midas.
The play was 30 minutes long and Blake was the main character, which included speaking parts in EVERY scene. I was SHOCKED at the amount of lines he had to memorize and he did it flawlessly.
The girl in the pink toga in the first two pictures is Kylee that is in his regular class with him too. They get to ride to bus to TAG each week together...he has a little crush on her. She played his daughter in the play and he got a few big hugs as part of the story line...so cute! He'd kill me though if he knew I said anything...what he doesn't know won't hurt him, hee hee!
He even had a part that he was the only one on stage and had a few paragraphs of lines to recite all on his own. I would've been a nervous wreck, but he really got into and made us even laugh in a few spots with the way he delivered his lines. Since he memorizes things so easily I told him drama might be something he would have fun with later in school.
