Summer Break

So far the kids' Summer Break has been pretty low key because the month of July is going to have us going
non-stop. We have Rick's sister and niece flying in on Saturday and we have a condo on the beach rented for the week down in Sarasota while she's here...can't wait for some family R & R in one of the prettiest places! Then 2 days after his sister flies home the kids and I are headed to Montana for two weeks for a family reunion. I can't wait to see all my siblings and nieces and nephews, we haven't all been together since Ashlyn was baby.

So here's what we've been up to so far....

Sooo excited to be back out our Brunswick house and get to use the neighborhood pool!
However, because of the wild fires that we have been surround by for quite some time, there have been many days that it was too smokey outside to swim so the kids got some extra time playing Wii...And we made cookies...We spent last weekend in Augusta and went to see
Cars 2 on Saturday. Blake was more entertaining to watch than the movie! He was sitting on the edge of his chair the entire time and loved every minute of it!I signed the kids up for Kids Summer Bowling and they LOVE it! I'm not a big fan, so I just sit and watch but they'd go every day if I'd take them. They love trying to beat their high scores each time. So far Blake is 89 and Ashlyn 85. He's beat her every time in the end, but lots of time she's ahead most of the game. Hopefully she'll beat him at least once this summer!
Every time she peeks under the kiddie rack to watch her ball. If she does well she has a little dance she does that is hilarious!
We used our passes for Summer Waves and had a blast in the lazy river, wave pool and various slides...Ashlyn even braved the wave pool on her own this year! And we took advantage of the Summer Kids Movies here and the cheap movie theater when we were in Augusta and saw...Loved this movie!
The kids liked this movie, but I was sound asleep after 5 minutes and enjoyed a WONDERFUL nap! This one the kids even thought was pretty dumb. And of course we've been to the library lots of times and both kids have read NUMEROUS books. Blake is keeping a log of his this summer to see how many pages he reads...it's gonna be a TON I'm sure!

I love summer for all the reasons you posted! Glad you are loving being back in Brunswick! Randomly wave to an older couple on the beach in Sarasota, my parents go and sit every afternoon...you never know! Have a great time there and in Montana! How fun is your summer?!
