Mother's Day

Ashlyn's class had a Mother's Day Tea at school the Friday before Mother's Day. Being in the South, where ice tea is served EVERYWHERE - including the school cafeteria - I was a little nervous that they might actually serve tea at the tea party! Luckily it was punch and we had a great time. They sang a bunch of Mother's Day songs, planted us a pot of flowers (which I have already killed and made her cry about) and gave us a coupon book for various chores they would do around the house (most of which she said she'd give to Blake to give me because they were his chores already and she shouldn't have to do them.) Even though our little Ashlyn can be an emotional handful at times we sure do love her...dreading when she's a teenager though! This is what the kids got me for a gift this year, I was soooo excited! I noticed it in Deseret Book's catalog they mail out every so often and tore it out to post on the fridge. About 2 weeks before Mother's Day Blake noticed it up there and asked about it...I explained that it was kind of a hint that I hoped Dad would notice. I later found out that Blake went in the other room and called Rick without me knowing and told him the story and demanded that Rick order it for me right away because I had put it up there months ago and he should've noticed. Boy do I love that little boy! I have a birthday and an anniversary coming up this summer....maybe I should cut out a picture of a little bling and put it on the fridge for Blake to work his magic!

*In case you haven't seen them...it's a wall hanging that each letter of our name is a picture from some part of one of the temples around the world...fountain, staircase railing, arch on a window, etc.

I LOVE that picture! It is beautiful! Blake is learning early. Good job! I need him around my house.
