"You've Had a Birthday, Shout Hooray!"

Ashlyn FINALLY turned 5 years old today...she thought the day would NEVER come! About 2 weeks ago she told us that she didn't want us to sing the traditional birthday song to blow out her candles, but the Primary Song in which I titled this post instead. She was very nervous that Dad hasn't been in Primary for soooo long that he wouldn't remember the words to the song, so she sat on his lap every night after dinner and taught/practiced the song with him...talk about cute!

To start out her special day we had friends over to go swimming...she's so excited that Rick taught her how to do a cannon ball the other day!
Then she went with me to get her nails done. Then she received numerous phone calls from far away relatives and even had her birthday announced on the XM Kids Place Live radio show - "Ashlyn in Brunswick, GA is turning into a 5 year old today!" She was soooo excited when she heard it along with the Happy Birthday song they play.

Then Pizza Hut was where she wanted to go for dinner...Then home for some cake and ice cream...(This year she wanted a Tangled cake, which I couldn't find a cake pan for so I ordered one of the edible images...so easy!)...and opening presents. She told Rick when we were driving home from dinner that they couldn't have the tickle war again that they had last night because "today was her special day and it was suppose to be the best day of her life." I love little girls!"

She keeps getting cuter and cuter! Can't wait to hear more as she grows up! Loved the story about Blake and the Mother's Day phone call!

She is too cute! I love that you took her to get her nails done. Very cute cake! How come we didn't get a side view of it?:)

What a cutie! So glad she had a great day. I love that it's so easy to make them feel special at this age. I wonder how long that will last?
