For some reason my children call it "painting cookies" rather than decorating cookies...not sure where that came from. A couple of weeks ago I bought the stuff to make and decorate sugar cookies, but hadn't gotten around to doing it. Instead I put the stuff in the cupboard for just the right time. Today, after being couped up in the house all week because of rain, almost a week without a trip to the pool and kids running around the house screaming all after noon playing chase - I was ready for some piece and quiet...out came the stuff to do cookies.
The event lasted a hair over 2 hours....2 hours of quiet busy little painters makes for a happy mom.
Mmmmm, the fruits of our labor! Notice Ashlyn is trying to eat it without picking it up? She hates to get her hands dirty...
...she eventually ended up diggin' in - what a mess!

Becca does that exact same thing Ashlyn does - it's so hilarious. We tried finger painting on a rainy day once and she would NOT get involved. Funny girl.

Painting cookies, I haven't done that in a long time. That sounds fun and tasty. I don't think Ryleigh and Lizzie would be too much help though. I take that back, Lizzie would help eat them. She ate half a dozen cookies off the counter last week. I left the kitchen for 30 seconds and they were devoured. Stink'n dog.
