Winter Band Concert

Tonight was Blake's Winter Band Concert...and they FINALLY have an auditorium to play in, rather than the old gym because of all the construction!  The acoustics were amazing!  It is so fun to watch the kids grow and develop as musicians and what a difference it has made to have a band teacher with experience who has stuck around for more than one year.

This first piece was a brass ensemble he was a part of as the opener of the concert...
(I clicked the wrong button on my phone and took a bunch of pictures instead of a video.)

His band teacher is having him play the trumpet for pep band music, but they
finally have enough trumpet players with our growing band, that he can stick to just the French horn for concert band music.  It makes a big difference in each of the pieces to have it.

His teacher has been great at picking pieces that feature him on the French horn or that has a French horn part that challenges/pushes Blake to be a better musician.  Maybe this year his teacher can convince Blake to try out for the symphony, since we weren't able to this summer.  Awesome job tonight guys!
