I was finally able to attend Ashlyn's Christmas concert this year! They do it during the day and I have had long term sub jobs so Rick has gone to the last few. Mrs. Davis ALWAYS puts on quite the production so it is always fun to go see what they have come up with each year. This year the 4th/5th graders did an adorable story about Santa's sleigh breaking down in different periods of history while trying to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve.
Ashlyn's class was dressed as cave men/women for the Pre-Historic era and the very beginning...
Then later in the show she was part of a small group to sing during the Baroque Period...
(Her teacher and another student are blocking my view of her dang it!)
As right of passage as 4th graders they get to learn to play the recorders. During the Classical Era they played a familiar tune with them....
Blue Danube
Santa and his crew continued through time stopping in the 1900's with different musical selections, some more popular than others. She had classes playing guitars, two different marimba groups, Silent Night in sign language and then the best was a class with girls dressed in poodle skirts and boys in jeans and white t-shirts dancing the swing to Jingle Bell Rock. There were a few more musical numbers thrown in and then they ended with the song from Polar Express...
Believe
Ashlyn sure enjoys Mrs. Davis and all the work she puts into their shows sure pays off. Every time they put on a big production rather than each class singing a song or two. We LOVE going to the shows and are sad to think that Ashlyn only has one more year with Mrs. Davis and her amazing shows.
