Last night Ashlyn and I took a bike ride over on the Fort Walla Walla trail. I had forgotten that there are blackberry bushes at one point on the trail. Blackberries grow like weeds here in this part of the country...what a great weed! Since she is our Georgia Girl she knew nothing about it and was excited to pull over on her bike and eat some off the bush. She loved them so after our ride we went home and got a bucket to pick some to take home.
I thought she would freak out the first time getting pricked by the thorns, but she was a trooper and quickly learned how to avoid them.
I'm not sure if more ended up in her bucket or her tummy...she kept saying, "These are so yummy...I'm just gonna eat one more...okay maybe two more..." over and over the whole time we were picking.
It was hair early for picking but we were able to get a Tupperware size container filled up. I think we will just enjoy the fresh berries like this, but next time we pick we will have to bake something with them!

be careful my SIL who lives just north of Portland in WA ate some on the side of the road, then felt sick so she called the county and they said that they had just sprayed them with herbicide becuz they grow like weeds around there.
