Spokane's River Front Park

Two weekends ago Rick was filling in for a doctor in Spokane so the kids and I decided to tag along for the day and bum  around town.  We headed to River Front Park, talk about beautiful!
The landscaping along the river was so pretty and made for a great back drop for a photo op!
This wagon is a giant slide.  I remember playing on it as a kids when we went to visit my Aunt Jeanne so I was excited to find it in the park for my kids to play on.  Poor Ashlyn was too short to be seen very well in the picture.
Along the walking path we came across stairs down to the river.  The kids had fun watching a couple of swans for awhile but after they swam away they couldn't resist kicking off their shoes and test out the water...even though there were signs everywhere that you couldn't swim...hopefully sticking your feet in wasn't a big deal.
It was a fun day that ended with a little school shopping at the mall and then dinner at Longhorn BBQ after we picked up Dad from work, YUMMM!!!.  If there is a next time we are gonna try a State Park along the river for some hiking.
