State Tournament Fundraisers

When the boys are on All-Stars and their team makes it to the State Tournament they do some CRAZY fundraising in a short period of time...we're talking 1 1/2 weeks - they can't start until after they win the District Tournament and know they are going.  This year ALL three of our teams made it to State, which put A LOT of pressure on the boys to raise funds.  They did car washes, sold Walla Walla Sweet Onions, bake sales, asked local businesses for donations, sold Walla Walla Sweet baseball tickets and had a booth at the 4th of July celebration in the park to sell drinks.
During the fundraising it was over 100 degrees each day.  They spent the day time participating in the fund raisers, went home to cool off for a couple of hours and eat dinner and then then had a 2 hour practice to participate in.  PLUS Blake was participating in Wa-Hi's conditioning camp for an hour each morning so he went and did a HARD work out each day before all the baseball stuff.  In the end the boys raised over $21,000!!! Yep, you read the right!! Crazy eh??  In 1 1/2 weeks!!  The money was split between all 3 teams...our team and the 11 year old team got $487 a player to go towards the cost of the trip...the 12 year old team had one less player and all the coaches were dads on the team so they had less to split the pot with and ended up with $595 a piece.  Talk about some CRAZY hard work on the boys' part and an AWESOME community to jump in and support the teams!
