Blake had his school's Spring Music Concert last night. I was feeling really cooped up since the only time I have been outside in 2 weeks is to come home from the hospital, so I decided to venture out to see the performance...keeping my fingers crossed that I could keep a low profile from coworkers, students and people from church. Success! Only one lady from church came up to ask how I was doing, but she was a friend of my Grandma's before she passed away, so I was okay.
The whole show was on composers and was a lot of fun. Mrs. Davis asked Blake to accompany a group of kids for a Mozart piece. He was excited to do it, but was more nervous than he was for the Christmas concert since he knew it was going to be for an auditorium filled will over 500 people. I was glad I went to watch because he did great!
Unfortunately, his Rock n' Rhythms marimba group didn't preform during the show, but him and a few kids from his class were on the marimbas to accompany a trio of girls singing. It was fun to watch the show and Blake did great with all the singing and the extra accompaniments he did, but he is THRILLED that it was the LAST music concert he has to participate in since will be in Jr. High next year. Band is a whole different thing and he says it will be WAY better than lame music class.
