Easter 2013

This year we went to Rick's sister's house about an hour away for Easter weekend.  It ended up being quite the crowd with family members coming from Salem too, so the kids had lots of cousins to play with.
We started Saturday morning with an egg hunt down at the marina.  There weren't very many kids in Ashlyn's age group, so I had to tell her to stop before it was over so the other kids had a chance to get some.  Both her and Blake made quite the haul this year and had a lot of fun.  Blake is sad to report that it was his last Easter hunt though since he is too old.
Then later that day they colored eggs with Aunt Cindy.
 They did 4 dozen eggs...
...which made yummy egg salad and lots of Aunt Lisa's deviled eggs!
The kids woke up bright and early Sunday morning at Aunt Cindy's to find their Easter baskets filled with candy and their new books.  They always get a new book in their basket, but they must have been REALLY good this year, because they each got a box set - Magic Tree House #5-8 for Ashlyn and The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings set for Blake.  They both were more excited about the books than the candy and made sure to show everybody.
Sunday morning Aunt Cindy and Uncle Loren put on an egg hunt at the house for all the cousins.  There were some easy ones for the younger kids, but the older kids really had to search for theirs.
Blake was the lucky one to find the golden egg which had $5 in it!
Then no trip to Aunt Cindy's house is complete without getting the
4-wheelers out.  Blake was pretty nervous again to drive by himself, but after a few minutes got the hang of it and was whipping around the track at 25mph he said.
Thanks Aunt Cindy and Uncle Loren for having us for the weekend, we had a blast!
