Everybody who knows Ashlyn knows that since she was about 3 if you asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up her response is "a paper shredder". For those of you who don't....when we lived in Georgia she LOVED to go to Rick's office and help the office staff shred confidential paperwork and said that's what she wanted to do for a job when she was older.
However, I'm proud to report that she's raised the bar a bit! This weekend, when we were packing to go to Salem for the weekend, she brought up the fact that she didn't think she would make very much money if she was just a paper shredder - something we've TRIED explaining to her MANY times. Then she proceeded to tell me that she thinks she'd like to be the person who helps the dentist look in your mouth - random change of heart, eh? So I explained that would be a dental hygentist, a WAY better job than a paper shredder! The nice thing if she REALLY decided to do that...she's just a kindergartner after all...is that the high school has college classes the kids can take with OIT and KCC which would allow her to have ALL but 1 of her prerequisites to get into a program done BEFORE she graduates from high school!
