Easter Fun

This year's festivities started early for Ashlyn...they've been doing Easter stuff all week at school and finished off the week with the big Easter party complete with decorating eggs and having an egg hunt. Only in the Bible Belt would they get away with this at a public school!Saturday we headed out to the big Easter event that the town does that Rick's office is in. They had an egg hunt...can ya tell the kids did better than last year's egg hunt? Blake found 29 eggs, Ashlyn 22!Then there were horse rides for the kids....And all kinds of jump houses, slides and obstacle courses set up for the kids.Then they had hot dogs, chips and soda for lunch...but we had to head to DQ afterwards still. It was 88 degrees outside so we NEEDED some ice cream to help cool off.

Then we headed home to decorate Easter eggs.And of course they woke up nice and early to see what the Easter Bunny left for them.Then of course we headed to church this afternoon and were able to reflect on the reason we celebrate the holiday. We had so many great musical numbers and speakers that brought the Spirit to the meeting that we were sad for it to end and head to Primary.
