Blake is excited that he got to be the starting pitcher for the first Sager Middle School baseball game of the season yesterday! Which is HUGE since he still has one more year of Little League to play and everybody else has aged out and moved on to Babe Ruth.
He is proud to report that yesterday he pitched the first 2 innings and didn't let any runs score. Unfortunately, the pitcher they brought in as the closer gave up 8 runs before they pulled him and we lost 6-9.
Today, they put Blake in to pitch the 4th and 5th inning, which ended up being the closing pitcher because we 10 runned them 13-3 in the 5th inning.
As far as hitting...he walked each at bat yesterday and his first at bat today.
before he crushed one to the fence along the 1st base line!
It was an easy, stand up double! If it was anybody else it would've been a triple...but Blake is a terribly slow runner.
He was pretty excited to score 2 runs in today's game! Especially since he is the youngest on the team of 7th/8th graders and was just expecting to get bare minimum playing time as a 7th grader.

It seems to me that your kids might have trouble at some point due to the fact that they're good at so many things - athletics, academics, arts. WOW! Please tell me what you're doing over there so I can try it out.
Great job, Blake!
