Rick's older sister (who I was friends with before I knew Rick) and her daughter came to visit for a few days this week. The first day we went out for BBQ at a local favorite and took the kids to see...
The next day we headed out to the Lava Beds and finished the remaining caves, except for the 3 that were closed because of the bats that were inhabiting them - we were glad for the warning!
Ashlyn was excited that cousin Danielle was willing to crawl in the nooks and crannies that us older people wouldn't.
This next picture didn't turn out very well because the sun was so bright in the opening of the cave, but it was a good one to show the pretty rock formations that made up the cave entrance.
We're proud to report that except for the "bat caves" we've done them ALL now! Our favorite was The Sentinel, it had 2 different entrances and we were able to make our way all the way through without getting lost and having to turn around like a couple of the others that had an entrance/exit.
The last day we all hopped into the car and headed down to WaterWorks, the water park in Redding, California. I guess we had too much fun while we were there because I didn't even take ONE picture the entire time....sooo not like me! Thanks Kristen and Danielle for coming to visit before we move, it was fun!
