A Week Without Mom and Dad

This past week I was able to attend Girls Camp because Rick's brother was kind enough to take our munchkins for the week - THANKS STEVE and LISA!!!  They had already had a family camping trip planned, so the kids got to tag along.  Ashlyn was excited to add Washington to states that she been and Blake was able to pass off some of his Cub Scouts requirements...
...helping set up the tent was one of them.
Steven's in-laws were on the trip also and have a trailer, so Ashlyn was able to help Bobby make cookies one afternoon.
What's camping without s'mores??
Even though Blake had a camp chair of his own, he couldn't help stealing Troy's.  When Steve texted me the picture, the caption was "You've only been gone a day Mom and I've shrunk already!"  Priceless!  However, now he's bugging for one of his own and I was told there about $95, sooo not happening!
The kids were excited to climb to the top of the light house, all 135 steps.
Pretty views of the ocean....
...and the harbor.
Steve was crazy enough to take them go-carting, Blake was THRILLED he was FINALLY tall enough to be the driver this time.
Ashlyn on the other hand got to ride shotgun with Uncle Steve, but still had a blast.
Then as they walked along the beach the found literally 1000's of sand dollars. Blake said he stopped counting at 100 when he was collecting them.  Crazy thing is they said they only picked up the perfect ones and for every 1 they picked up there were probably 30 with flaws of some sort!
If anybody has a good idea of what to do with about 130 sand dollars, let me know!  A craft for  theYoung Women would be great!

Thanks Steve and Lisa for watching our little rugrats for the week so that I could help up at camp, I know that they had a BLAST with you guys!  And was awesome to get pictures each day of what they were up to,  thanks!

I don't know of any crafts with sand dollars, but you could always give them to the YW as Christmas gifts, with the little sand dollar Christmas poem attached. Or have the YW wrap them and they give them to parents or non-members or just someone meaningful in their lives.

Looks like they had a fun time! Glad you guys are having a good summer!
