Went to the ATL to See the Cubbies

Friday night at about 9 o'clock we decided to catch a game at Turner Field in down town Atlanta since the Chicago Cubs were in town. Blake and Rick and been to numerous games there, since we lived in Atlanta for awhile, but I hadn't and Ashlyn has never been to an MLB game. So we got up early Saturday morning and headed for the big city to see our first game as a family. We went from this picture taken before the start of the game......to this picture at the BOTTOM of the 1st INNING! Ashlyn was mad that she hadn't caught a ball yet! "Why did ya make me bring my dumb glove then!"I explained that Dad had been to more games than I could count and has only caught 1 ball...she was ready to go back to the hotel! Can't say that I blame her. We ended up getting a sweet deal on a Hyatt Regency right down town. Check out the view from our balcony...And it had a roof-top pool that the kids enoyed playing in the 14 ft. deep end. After a couple of innings she realized she better make the best of it and had fun dancing to the music for the fan cam......singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the 7th inning stretch......MULTIPLE trips to the concession stands. (Check out this hot dog! It was HUGE and, minus the bun, she ate the whole thing! I got a chili cheese dog that I dropped upside down in my new purse while taking this picture...oooo was I mad!!)And Blake taught her to heckle the Brave's fans like a pro...Rick had to tell her to calm down multiple times. All in all it was a fun adventure...especially since the Cubbies won, woo hoo!! She was a trooper since baseball isn't her thing, she was too little to enjoy "the experience" and even though the game didn't start til 7 o'clock it was still in the 90's when the game was over! However, I think we'll have to wait a few more years until we make a family pilgrimage to the mecca of baseball...aka Wrigley Field.
