...is how I would explain Ashlyn's reaction every time we made her take off her floaties to learn how to swim this summer. We're talking trying to climb up to get on our shoulders, digging her fingernails into our skin and screaming/crying so bad that she was hardly breathing. It was pretty obvious really quick that we were not going to be able to teach her to swim, however we were too busy for swim lessons this summer with as much as we were out of town. Luckily the YWCA has lessons year round!

Last night was her first class and the teacher had her in tears the first 5 minutes...off to a GREAT start! However, he wasn't going to let her be scared/cry and made her continue after she stopped choking on the water she inhaled. She went from tears at the beginning of the class to jumping off the side with the teacher 15 feet away then swimming to him and back to the wall...all in a 30 minute lesson! I was shocked! $35 well spent in my opinion...and that was just Day 1..way to go Ashlyn!

Then it was Blake's turn. He's known how to swim since Pre-K, but took the class to show him how to do the proper strokes. The look on his teacher's face in this picture sums it all up...where to begin! It'll be an interesting month long class for Blake since he is FAR from being able to do a proper free style, let alone the back stroke that the class requires them to learn to pass!
