A group of friends from Brunswick invited us to take the kids to the beach yesterday since school was out for the day...we had a great time, but are sitting home nursing sunburns today. I have NEVER had a sunburn that throbs, makes me nauseous and makes the burnt area swell up. Family members were jealous that we had weather warm enough to hit the beach, we however are jealous today of their below freezing temperatures that forced them to stay indoors! Blake had on more clothing so he didn't get it as bad, but Ashlyn hasn't worn more than her underwear since we got home yesterday...needless to say she wasn't able to go to school this morning.
At first this was as close to the water they would get since it was ice cold...didn't last very long, soon they were completely in and having a blast.
Ashlyn loves to have people burry her in the sand, which surprises us since she hates to get dirty.
While they were watching the numerous dolphins that were out they had fun wave jumping.
*Note to self: it doesn't matter what time of year the calendar says it is, you ALWAYS need sunscreen at the beach! (Especially if you're there for 5 hours!)

I am so sorry you're sun burned! We were at the beach yesterday, too. I am a little nutso about the sunscreen so we were ok. Make sure you stay very hydrated. Denise has been hospitalized from a sunburn.
wheres the pics of the sunburns? usually its Rick who we have seen fried....sorry you guys got burned so bad...now maybe Byron will believe me on the sunscreen year round. Byron was burned pretty bad too Sat then again Monday...he still didn't learn his lesson....I am still applying aloe to his back!
Sorry you guys got burned so bad! My kids and I are all a little pink today but nothing too bad. It was fun to see you and the kids yesterday though!
