Last night I took the kids over to Jesup's Christmas Parade that goes right by Rick's office. We've been trying to go for several years and haven't been able to make it for various reasons, so the kids were thrilled to finally get to go.

Notice the winter coats and blankets...yep it's only been in the 50's here recently, so a parade that didn't start until 6:30 was a little on the chilly side. Where did our Southern Georgia winter weather go???

Ashlyn was excited to see Mrs. Claus who rarely makes appearances...she looked sooo pretty!

Our favorite part of the parade were the Shriner's...old men on little tiny motorcycles was always funny to me as a kid. However, here in this area they make their own "motorcycles" for the parade...if ya could call them that! There was a group that put motors and wheels on ice chests, another who turned recliners into driveable vehicles and our favorite...a group who turned bar stools into hot rods. They were popping wheelies and everything! They stopped right in front of us for about 5 minutes to do their tricks and even though they were all tricked out with Christmas lights, none of the pictures turned out because they were driving too fast. Talk about hilarious though!

Then this afternoon after church Blake and I decorated the tree. Ashlyn had been warned yesterday her room needed to be cleaned if she wanted to help...she decided to call my bluff and was upset when she was banished to her room to clean it while we decorated.

Once she finally cleaned her room, the decorating was LONG completed, so she rushed out to see the tree. It got really quiet after about 10 minutes so I decided I should go and check on her...only to find that she had opened 3 of her presents and was started on a 4th! What the heck! Luckily 2 of them were small things, but the 3rd was a pair of new Crocs that she's been wanting REALLY bad...she cried for about a 1/2 hour that they were going back to the store. Now none of her presents will be out before she goes to bed on Christmas Eve I guess...errrr!

We went to our Night Parade too! Except that is was snowing the whole time and very cold! There was bout 12 inches of snow on the sidewalk. Luckily someone has shoveled it before!! W put our tree up last night and it smells wonderful! That is too funny about Ashlyn and opening her gifts! We don't have anything under there yet. I still need to buy paper and tape!!!
The parade looks awesome! Probably way more fun than the Brunswick one. And that's so funny about Ashlyn. Cat would do something like that if I'd just punished her more than she thought necessary. She's kind of vengeful that way. :-)
That parade looks amazing! Wow! Ashlyn is hilarious. Come on, she's just doing what deep down we all want to do! lol
