Here's Blake's READ poster that he earned this year for participating in the Accelerated Reader Program at school. He's proud to report that he was the first in the entire school of 680 kids to get his! They changed the rules from last year, so it took a lot more reading in order to get one. Last year he had to accumulate 50 points, but since he read 3rd and 4th grade books each book was worth anywhere from 1-3 points, where kindergarten books were only worth 1/2 a point. This year the requiremnt was to read 50 books and they didn't worry about points. However, the books that were at his reading level this year (4th and 5th grade books) were about 200 pages a piece! He's gotten really into learning about sharks this year so he was excited when Mrs. Teston came up with this creation for his poster. I'm not sure how she got it to look like the shark took a bite out of the book or how she made it look like Blake was wearing a divng suit, pretty cool though eh?
