Just Like Her Brother

Does everybody remember this book of Blake's from when he was about 18 months old during his obsesion with the ABC's? And that he was able to read it (the ABC letters that is) before he was 2? Well a couple of days ago Ashlyn pulled all the ABC books off the shelf and has been looking at them...tonight she brought me this one for her book to read before bed. She was able to read the letters A, B, C, E, F, G, I, K, L, M, O, P, Q, S, T, W and X all on the first look without guessing - not too bad 17 out of 26! She also started bringing us her "handy dandy notebook" (she LOVES Blue's Clues) along with a pencil throughout the day, a couple of weeks ago, asking us to write letters as she says them. It's cute and everybody gets a kick out of it, but she quickly gets upset if you're in the middle of something a don't jump to her "beckoning ABC call" - which ends up in a temper tantrum. Sometimes it works for her to sit next to me and "write" them herself, but not always. Boy is she taking after Blake!

Becca can recognize every alphabet letter and the numbers one through ten.

Emma, 19 months older, is still a bit spotty. Makes me laugh and shake my head how different my girls are.
