Last Band Concert of the Year

Blake had his last band concert of the school year tonight and was excited that Grandma Kathy was here to watch.  We can't wait for the construction to be done on their new school so they have a stage and better acoustics for their concert instead of playing in the crappy old gym.  Luckily his band was plenty loud enough to hear, but the beginning band and choirs weren't so lucky.
They did a movie theme for the concert and their group chose selections from The Hobbit.  He played the french horn for these pieces.  It was four different movements, but I wasn't sure how long it would last so I made separate clips for each movement.

IV.  Erebor

Then they did a few pep band style of songs for the kids to get a feel of what type of music they would play if they join pep band in the future...Blake switched to the trumpet for these songs.

We love that they finally found a teacher with TONS of experience who plans to stay for a LONG time.  He has done wonders in the first school year he has been here!  We can't wait continue to see them grow both in numbers and talent.
