We grew some MONSTER sunflowers in our garden this year!
Last week Ashlyn was excited to help me harvest the seeds and try our hand at roasting some.
They came off pretty easily but we had seeds EVERYWHERE when we were done!
A couple of flowers weren't quite dry enough and were a little more difficult to get the seeds out of.
Check out how big the heads were....
...WAY bigger than Ashlyn's head!
Then Blake helped me to clean them to get ready to soak and then we roasted them the next day. The BBQ ones were pretty weird tasting, but we really liked the seasoned ones.
