The week of 4th of July we headed to Bull Trout Lake in Idaho for a family reunion with my side of the family. Everybody but my youngest sister was able to make it and we had a lot of fun. Here are all the kids lined up in age order on the first afternoon before they were all dirty.
Blake helped out Uncle Devin and Uncle Nathan collect and chop the firewood each day...after they showed him how to use the saw.
It was pretty hot, so we didn't do a lot of hiking, but Bailey was out like a light on the little hike we did take one morning.
There was no running water at the campground so we had to pump the water and haul it to use every morning. The girls had never seen a water pump before and had fun pumping it for each other to get a drink.
Our campsites were right on a lake that was great for the little kids because it was really shallow for a long ways out, but the older kids and uncles walked to the other lake that was much deeper. Blake and Zach were pretty funny daring each other to jump in because it was really cold water!
They both made it in and had fun floating on tubes out to the middle with Uncle Nathan and Uncle Devin who were brave enough to get in the freezing water with them.
All the little girls loved sitting and reading books.
And of course we all had fun taking our turn holding Baby Bentley! He was such a trooper on his first camping trip.
No McDowell gathering is complete without playing games...
And when your camping you can't forget about s'mores! Brynley was pretty cute trying to eat her marshmallow off the stick.
It was a great 5 days Shannon and Devin, thanks for planning everything...we had a blast and are looking forward to Denver in 2016!
