This week Rick had a CE Conference in Grand Mound, Washington, about an hour south of Seattle. We left Thursday morning and took Highway 12 across the state, a road none of us have traveled before....
...the waterfalls were our favorite...
...but the huge canyons and numerous lakes sure were beautiful as well!
Then the views on Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainer...
After about a six hour drive we finally made it...
...we laughed that they gave all the kids wolf ears when checking in but Ashlyn wore her's the entire weekend.
The resort has a HUGE indoor water park that we had a blast playing at while Dad sat in all of his classes.
He did have a few chances to play as well. We did the family rides together a few times and then he and Ashlyn had fun riding a double tube on the smaller slides...no pictures of that though, sorry, my phone was up in our room at that time.
Look what we came across when we were heading to breakfast and the Outlet Mall...who would've thought!
Then the kids were given the computerized wands to do the scavenger hunt all around resort. We worked on it for over 3 hours and still had 2 more pages to go when Ashlyn's wand started having problems and we decided to call it quits. It was fun for a little bit, but enough was enough. So glad we didn't pay $18 a wand it costed to do because Dad got them free for being part of the conference.
The time they spent on the lilly pads was CRAZY! It was WAY harder than it looked...I tried twice but couldn't make it past the second one. Because Ashlyn is shorter and lighter she figured it out the fastest, which only made Blake more determined to figure it out. The first day we were there they played an hour and a half straight on them before Blake accomplished it...
...he ended up doing it 3 times, Ashlyn 7 times during our stay. It sure was fun weekend at a fun place...we love when Dad has conferences to go to that are family friendly...and the fact that work pays for it of course!
