Needless to say we were THRILLED tonight to listen to their songs... all great arrangements of various Christmas Carols. Instead of posting a video of the whole concert I will only share a couple songs. The first one is Carol of the Bells...and Blake's solo! Sure it is a little one, but pretty cool for a 6th grader to get one in a band of 6-8th graders.
We laughed that all four trumpet players are LDS and that three out of four of them were the ones with the solos...and when the trumpets weren't playing that the rest of the band kind of fell apart. They definitely carry the band!

I am excited to see what he does with these kids this year...they are talking about going to some festivals/competitions this spring. I just hope he can build a program so they have a decent group for high school.

I haven't been in band in forever, but watching that reminded me of that little rush you get before a performance. Although I kind of dread next year when my kids start school and we have to deal with 'all that" stuff, I also look forward to having fun experiences like this with them. Let's cross our fingers they actually have some talents. :)
