Today we finally got around to carving pumpkins after church. Rick has NEVER been thrilled to carve pumpkins, but cut the lid off of each of them...I swear he was convinced I was going to chop a finger off and bleed to death with being on Coumadin the way he was treating me!
Then Blake politely told me he has never been into carving pumpkins but did it cause I wanted him to...and that 11 years is long enough. So Ashlyn and I were on our own this year. She was excited to help me dig out the guts of mine...
I decided to try the knife-less approach this year for my pumpkin.
It worked really well, but I wished I had a bigger drill bit so the wholes were bigger to allow more light through them.
Then it was time to make Halloween sugar cookies. Rick LOVES when we make "non-dog barf" sugar cookies...not enough to HELP make them, but he didn't mind helping us EAT them. Maybe the kids should remind him of the Little Red Hen story!
It was a fun and busy afternoon. Now we are ready for Trick-or-Treating in a few nights!

I have seen a lot of the "drill" method on Pinterest lately. Yours came out pretty good! Thanks for the reminder to post my pictures!
