After staying in Eugene last night we got up and hit the road to drive up the Coast Highway. Rick has to be in Newport for a couple of days for work, so we decided to tag along one last time before we move.
As we drove the highway up the coast we decided to stop and check out Washburne Wayside, it was really cold but really pretty.
As we walked along the beach we came across a little cove that had "graffiti" in the sandy cliffs. Tons of people had carved their names and stuff in the cliff, but this picture was visible from WAY down the beach and was what caught our attention in the first place. We couldn't help grabbing a rock and carving our own names in the cliff before leaving.
There were some sand dunes, something the kids have never played on since it was against the law in Georgia and Florida because of the sea turtle nests. So we talked them into climbing up a smaller one and running down as fast as possible...it was pretty funny to watch, to say the least. I wish we had time to take them to Pacific City with the HUGE dune that is so steep you can't even run down, ya either walk or jump down Rambo style - we prefer the later.
Then even though it was only 58 degrees out and the wind was blowing the kids couldn't help themselves from walking in the freezing water. I guess our Georgia/Florida beaches are distant memories for our little Georgia Peaches......soooooo sad!!!
