Out of the blue a few days ago, Ashlyn asked if she could build a fort...ya would've thought I'd bought her the newest fad toy (not that I know what that is these days) with how excited she got when I told her yes.
I was surprised at her ability to make one all by herself and how long she played with it. The last couple of nights she's slept in it too...not tonight since she woke us up at 3:30 telling us she kept bumping her head on her bed or bookshelf that was a main component of the fort. She wanted us to get up and help her fix it so she could go back to sleep...so NOT happening at 3:30. The night before it fell down on her in the middle of the night and she wanted us to help her fix it. When I told her to just sleep on the couch in our room in developed into a fight that I need to go down stairs and get her pillow and blanket...so didn't happen either. I have fond memories of making all kinds of forts as a kid with my siblings and sleeping in them...I don't think we ever woke our parents up in the middle of night to help us fix it though - maybe our fort building skills were a little better!

Cute! Ryleigh asked tonight if she could build a fort. It brought back memories of us building forts too! Hers, however, came down before bed. She didn't even ask if she could sleep in it. Probably didn't know that was a possibility.
