Ashlyn's big day finally came...after waiting for months since we bought the tickets! She chose to see Broadway's Beauty and the Beast while the boys were out in California for the Oregon vs Stanford game.

We got there plenty early so we were able to walk around down by the river before the show. Ashlyn was excited to play photographer...

And we were able to hit the souvenier stand before the lines were long for her to pick out a charm bracelet. The guy said that all the Broadway shows have them and that it is something fun for girls to collect.

She was sad that we couldn't take pictures during it, but posed for this one real quick as we were walking in of the stage with the famous rose.

I was able to steal some pictures online of the show of our favorite scenes. Mine was in the tavern when Gaston sings about how great he is and how he plans on marrying Belle. All the dancers had metal mugs in their hands and clanked them together as they danced in all kinds of cool rhythms...by far my favorite part of the show!

Ashlyn's favorite scene was the "Be Our Guest" number. There were all kinds of things going on during the scene including some really cool kick lines and girls dancing with ruffly dresses with colorful petticoats that were beautiful while they danced. She thought it was funny they showed their underwear to everybody.

Then during a REALLY short intermission we grabbed a quick snack. We had smelt the chocolate chip cookies throughout the show and couldn't resist any longer!

After the show we decide to hit Chili's for dinner.

It was cute all day long that Ashlyn kept saying that the boys made a big mistake choosing not to go with us and that they were really missing out. I can't even begin to describe the costumes, the scenery and the live orchestra... it was truly amazing and made for a great day for the two of us to hang out together. I can't wait for her to get older to go to other shows...something tells me that it'll always just be her and I and the boys will make other plans!

How fun!!! Good luck with the packing, shove it all in if you have to! And, no we are going overseas after here...we chose to come to DC for language and Master's versus CA for just the language. Hope to have an official announcement by the end of this year. We can't wait to hear about your new adventure!
What a fun day! I'm sure I was more excited than Cat this summer when I took her to her first real show. It's just the funnest thing for me.
I can't believe your move is coming up so quickly. Good luck!!
