Day One - 630 Miles

(Villa Rica, GA - Van Buren, AR)Rick's older brother Steve flew out to Georgia to help us drive...check out what he wore the very first day! A Beaver shirt Steve?? Has it REALLY been that long since we've been in Oregon that you've gone to the dark side and root for the wrong team? Before leaving the state of Georgia we had to make one last QT stop...we aren't sure if we're gonna miss the beach and warm weather or our favorite sodie store more.We quickly made our way to Alabama and enjoyed a pretty drive through the Appalacian Mountains...we were too late to see any of the fall colors though.
Blake was able to see the Talladega racetrack as we passed. That was also the state that I lost Rick's work debit card while getting gas...
...and didn't realize it until we were in Mississippi. Unfortunately, it was the ONLY debit card we have for that account and it just happened to be the account with the moving/gas/hotel fund...ooops!
Mississippi is also the home to Elvis' Lake? Who knew?
Then it was on to Tennessee for a bit before we crossed the Mississippi River and made it to......where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we pulled off the freeway for the night.
