After hanging out at the beach with a friend today, she convinced me to take advantage of the sale on strawberries and make a batch of freezer jam. We always made homemade jam growing up and canned everything you could possibly can. It wasn't anything I had fun doing, so as an adult I haven't done anthing along those lines...until today that is!

Blake helped stir for a few minutes before getting bored.

Ashlyn stuck through the whole process and was quite a little helper.

Here's the finished product, yummy! And what better to go with homemade strawberry freezer jam than homemade bread. Oh sooooooo good! My stomach aches from eating so much already.

I'd love to post an adorable picture of the two kids enjoying the fruits of our labor (no pun intended) but both of them stuck their nose up at it and opted for butter on their bread instead. This was Blake's response when I asked if he wanted any:
Blake: Ummm...it has strawberries in it Mom.
Me: All jam has fruit in it Blake, that's what makes it jam.
Blake: I never want to eat any.
Me: I can promise it'll end up on your sandwich when we run out of the store stuff.
Blake: Please make sure ya pick the strawberries out before you put the lid on my pbj sandwich then."
