The Happiest Place on Earth

We finally found some time to take the kids down to Disney World for a long weekend. We took Blake when we lived in Florida, but since that was before Ashlyn's time, this was her first visit. It's been a chilly winter here, but luckily the time at Disney ended up being in the mid 60's and they were able to enjoy it. Ashlyn was absolutely giddy when Cinderella's castle came into sight for the first time...she was quickly disappointed however, when we explained that it was just a piece of scenery and she was not going to be able to tour it.
While the boys rode all the big scary rides - Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain Railroad - that Ashlyn was too short for......her and I headed over to visit the Princesses. She was soooo excited, ya would've thought it was Christmas morning! She's happy to report she was able to sit and visit with Belle, Ariel, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. The kids had a blast with the Mickey Philharmonic 3-D movie. Blake was kind of scared of it when he was Ashlyn's age, but they both loved it this time around and begged to watch it again.Ashlyn was tickled pink that Jasmine's Carpet Ride was the first thing we came to...was very disappointed however, when the ride was over and she realized Jasmine and Aladdin weren't there.
The only thing Blake said he remembered from our last visit to Disney was the Disney Speedway. He thought he was pretty big stuff being able to drive the race car all by himself this time!If you look real close in this picture, you can kind of see that Ashlyn is driving this car...Rick couldn't understand why she kept crashing and why he ended up having to help her. Hello...she couldn't see over the steering wheel! Needless to say, I was laughing hysterically the entire time as I watched.

We got a screamin' deal and stayed at the Gaylord Palms Resort while we were there. They had all kinds of things to do, one of which included a kiddie pool. As I mentioned before it was a chilly weekend and the day we spent relaxing at the resort was only 45 degrees...my kids insisted on swimming. Crazy thing was, they weren't the only ones out there! And after an hour, we had to tell them we were freezing sitting on the patio and were ready to go in. But who could pass up a pool with slides, waterfalls, fountains, a spray park etc. etcThe kids are already asking when we can go back...not until Ashlyn's old enough to ride "the big scary rides" and make it worth getting a Hopper Pass to go to the other parks.

Ok, I just typed a really long comment and it didn't post. So I typed crap to see if it would work this time, hence the previous comment. Sorry.

Yeah, you finally got your pictures up. So FUN! Devin just said, "Man, what would it be like to go someplace like that for the weekend?" Seriously!

That is so funny that Ashlyn couldn't see over the wheel. They need booster seats in those cars or something.

Well, kids her height aren't suppose to drive the car...only sit shot gun. Not sure how/why Rick let her try driving. He should've put her on his lap at least to give her a fair chance at it.
