Morning at the Beach

Rick is up at UGA all weekend for some CE credits, so we decided to head out to one of the islands for a couple of hours this morning. It was a pretty windy day, but the kids still had fun.
Blake loves to body surf when the boogie boards get left at home. Usually there are just tiny waves at this beach, so I didn't worry about bringing them. They were big enough for adults to boogie board today...maybe I should check the Weather Channel to make sure there isn't a hurricane abrewin' out there!
Ashyln was a little too brave with the waves today...pretty soon all that I was able to see was her pink sunglasses bobbin' in the water - a wave wiped her completey out!
It was so windy today that there was a wind surfer out! We haven't seen that since our Hood River days. He wasn't able to keep it up for very long since the wind was so strong and quickly gave up.

Blake still loves to write in the sand, so he decided to practice letters with Ashlyn. Do ya remember all the hours we spent doing that at the beach in Oregon?
